Moments In Time

Devoted To Time with God

The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.”  Proverbs 18:10

I like to read books, but I must discipline myself to make sure I don’t get more excited and spend more time reading other books than the Bible.  My devotional time with God is important.  I don’t want my time with God to lack.  It’s healthy, it’s great, it’s fulfilling, and it’s complete. Without spending time in the Word of God first, before I venture out to read other stuff, eventually I’ll be an empty and dry well needing water.
“Hold me close, let your love surround me.  Bring me near draw me to your side. And as I wait
I'll rise up like the eagle, and I will soar with You.  Your Spirit leads me on by the power of Your love.”  (Power of Your Love, Hillsongs)

“I cried out to You, O LORD: I said, “You are my refuge, my portion in the land of the living.” Psalm 142:5

Oh the “blessed quietness, holy quietness, what assurance in my soul…” the songwriter wrote about, is really what happen in your quiet time with God.
